At Grace Acres Farm we believe that healthy eating is important, for people and for animals. We strive to feed our livestock organic products and give them environments that are suitable to their physiological makeup. This is what provides us with healthy meats, eggs and milk.
To the left you can see some recommendations for providers of organic and natural groceries. In addition, we have listed some of the books we have read that encouraged our way of life.
Hot Chocolate without hydrogenated oil:
1 cup organic non-instant milk powder
scant ½ cup organic cocoa
½ cup turbinado or raw sugar
sea salt to preference
dash or two cinnamon
Sift milk powder and cocoa, add sugar, salt and cinnamon. Store in a glass jar with lid.
To make: Add 2 Tbs, or to preference, to hot water. Mix with whisk.
Other uses: Use warm milk instead of water. Add to your coffee to make a mocha.
Enjoy!
Healthier taco seasoning mix:
Here is a recipe for taco seasoning mix without MSG!
7 Tbs chili powder
3 Tbs oregano
2 Tbs each cumin, onion powder, garlic powder and sugar
1 ½ Tbs sea salt
½ Tbs paprika
Mix together in a pint size jar and store in a dark, cool place.
Pick me up drink:
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar and 1 teaspoon pure, raw honey mixed into 8 oz of water. Try it cold or warm!
Kitchen health killers:
