The comment "they're just like a puppy dog" is made about goats regularly. They are like dogs in that they like attention and they like to be with their human. Goats will choose to hang out in whatever part of the pasture you are in and move when you move. They are excited to see you when you first come out and come right over for some petting. We haven't taught any of our goats to sit, put they can walk on leashes! Goats are great companions and we highly recommend them!

Goats are one of those animals that you either love or hate. I have to admit, some days I love them and some days I hate them! They are very clever at getting through fences and usually a fence is up to keep the goats OUT! They are very affectionate though and that gets them back in my good graces. Goats are a great all purpose animal and one worth taking another look at. They provide wonderfully healthy milk, are a good source of meat, are excellent at clearing brush, are great to take camping or hiking loaded down with your supplies, and they can pull a cart. Very useful! They know their names and come when called (most of the time) and each one has their own personality.
